It has never ceased to amaze me how often I find myself surprised at how many friends. relatives, and strangers can make their lives so much harder than it really needs to be. Im 16 and although I don’t have any plans to go to college I must say that I honestly can’t wait until I become an adult. I’ve never been to particularly fond of high school not because of bullying problems but simply because of the intense lack of application of in class principles. The freedom that comes along with being an adult seems gratifying to me regardless of the responsibilities that come along with it. I will finally be free to spend my time studying via my own independent methods which I am rather excited about. Regardless my parents and peers all look down on me due to my recently poor grades and stress the importance of preparing for a “future.” I appreciate there concerns for me but I must say especially my mothers whining is starting to become quite a nuisance. Somehow I know that everything is going to end up okay regardless of what happens. I’d much rather enjoy what life has to offer me right now than worry about something that doesn’t exist. The thoughts that run through my head will always be able to control my perspective and even if I don’t end up “successful” with a ton of money and a hot wife at least I can say that I’ve been able to enjoy every moment that I’ve been given.

Enjoying the present moment is all that will ever exist. The challenge comes when you must adapt your thoughts to find a way to enjoy things that you consider to be boring. Life can sometimes be much more satisfying when we learn how to shut off all the little thoughts that cause our own suffering.
